I’m sure most of you have observed or heard about these kinds of sample programs. For those who haven’t, I thought I’d share my experience with Loose Button. The basic idea is that you pay a regular monthly fee and in exchange every month you receive a box filled up with 3-5 premium sized samples of various products.

Actually sadly they are just shipping and delivery to Canada right now, but they say they will work on growing that to other countries. I love the theory behind this. First, who doesn’t want to get mail within an uber cute & creatively packaged box? I understand this lady will. Seriously, so cute right?

I’m conserving the ribbons and containers for future gifts. 12 monthly. Month and a 1 year regular membership You can even buy a 3. So what is it possible to expect for the? You will receive a chic box filled up with three to five deluxe-sized luxury beauty examples ranging from skincare and makeup to fragrance, body, and haircare. Want to know more about them? Not to worry, we will also include a product sheet with tips and descriptions for all the samples.

So I’ve now received my first Luxe Box and thought I’d share what I got and my first impressions, some tips about what it looked like when I opened up it. I really liked the included product description sheet and that means you know what you’re getting and a bit more information about any of …

The release of Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson has been postponed in Malaysia. Although due to be released Wednesday, the film is facing an “internal review”, the neighborhood branch of Walt Disney informed Malaysian information outlet The Star. The man knew his makeup. The rumours are true: it’s Publius Ovidius Naso’s 2,057th birthday. You can score some points with the classicists in your life by mentioning this in casual conversation, if you toss in a reference to the Metamorphoses especially. And if you’re wooing a classicist, or wooing anyone, really, make certain to heed the advice in Ovid’s Ars Amatoria, his instructional elegy on romance-its efficacy has not been diminished by the passage of millennia.

Mental Floss even has eleven dating tips from the poet himself. But I write today with a far more immediate, and more profitable, message. Even if readers still (occasionally) grab the Metamorphoses or Ars Amatoria, there’s an enormous blind spot in our modern view of Ovid. We’ve all but ignored the man’s presents as a beautician.

Somewhere between 1 BC and 8 AD, Ovid wrote Medicamina Faciei Femineae, known variously as The creative art of Beauty or-my personal preference-Cosmetics for the Female Face. Though only about one-hundred lines survive, they include step-by-step instructions to make your own ancient Roman cosmetics, and believe you me, these concoctions are unlike any beauty products on the marketplace right now.

Over recent years tiny beads created from plastic, called microbeads, have found their way as an component in some aesthetic products designed for exfoliating the skin. Exfoliating gets rid of the outer, deceased layer of epidermis. Why these plastics ever became a staple for a few companies is a mystery if you ask me in a day and time when most of us are so aware of plastic being truly a source of air pollution in waterways.

Thankfully, President Obama lately signed a costs to ban these ingredients in makeup products, the Microbead-free WatersAct of 2015 HR 1321, after unanimous acceptance by the U.S. These plastic beads aren’t biodegradable so when they go down the drain they end up in aquatic habitats and make up a large part of the pollution in lakes.

Their small size allows for fish to consume them convinced that they are food. The ban will take impact January 1, 2018 so companies currently using these beads have time to reformulate their products. Products that use microbeads include body and face scrubs designed for exfoliation. Brands include Clinique, Rite Aid, Kiehl’s, Victoria’s Secret, Bath and Body Works, Aveeno, Estee Lauder, and Crest Toothpaste even.

There are many options in the formulators tool kit, however, for exfoliation and I’ve always questioned why these plastic material microbeads became so popular. They have no real benefits over other materials used for exfoliation. What are some options for exfoliation? Salt is one of the best exfoliants for the body and …
